What this role involves

Job Description - Business Operations Analyst

About Bold.org

With a mission of Fighting Student Debt, Bold.org is the fastest-growing student fintech platform in the United States. We’re a team of dozens, serving millions of students, with trillions in student debt at stake.

We operate at the intersection of fintech, education, philanthropy, and rewards, building products that meaningfully expand access to education. We are relentlessly focused on profitability, long-term retention, and building systems that scale sustainably. If that resonates, we’d love to meet you.

Position Description:

Reporting directly to the VP of Finance, you will work with the Growth, Product, and Executive Team of a high-growth fintech platform with 8M+ members, taking ownership of revenue analytics, partner success, and day-to-day revenue operations. You will focus on serving and scaling Bold.org’s key revenue partners, and will take on a mix of quantitative analysis, forecasting, partner-facing negotiation, and process automation.

Your primary goal will be to drive certainty and revenue growth in the core business, taking on many of the executive team’s current day-to-day responsibilities and freeing them up to focus on product and new business development.

This is a great role for a future entrepreneur or anyone looking to learn and own best practices for profitable, data-driven startup operations.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Revenue Partner Operations

    • Own day to day revenue operations, ensuring our partner goals, budgets, and KPIs are met.

    • Identify and execute revenue growth opportunities, increasing competition among partners bidding for placements, renegotiating pricing and terms with existing partners, and expanding placement volume.

  • Finance & Analysis

    • Own key areas of finance and growth analysis, including cohort analysis, LTV modeling, etc.

    • Turn analysis into recommendations that inform prioritization across marketing, revenue, and retention.

  • Systems & Automation

    • Automate the company’s most time-consuming growth and revenue operations processes, driving leverage across the entire company (including for yourself).

Required Skills:

  • Data analysis. You’re comfortable diving into open-ended data problems yourself and don’t generally need help pulling relevant data. You have strong SQL skills.

  • AI-driven engineering. You use tools like Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor regularly in most of your day-to-day workflows. You’re comfortable developing programs to automate your work.

  • Growth. You have a strong basis in growth first principles like conversion rate optimization, cohort analysis, funnel optimization, etc.

  • Finance. You have a strong foundation in forecasting and modeling.

  • Bandwidth. You’re very good at getting a lot done quickly with excellence.

  • Resourcefulness. You thrive in the chaos of startups and love making complicated, uncertain things simple.

  • Communication. You give and receive feedback directly and easily, and you’re generally great to work with. Our team is globally distributed and often works across time zones, so strong written and verbal communication skills are a must.

Background:

  • 2+ years of experience in a high-intensity, highly analytical role like investment banking or startup growth.

  • 1+ years of experience with digital marketing and tech startups.

  • You must have strong SQL skills. You must be comfortable working directly with our database, building your own dashboards, doing complex cohort and retention analysis, reasoning about data from multiple sources, etc.

  • Familiarity with analytics platforms like PostHog, Grafana, Clickhouse, etc. is a strong plus.

  • Please note that we don’t require a specific background. If you meet the required skills, we’d love to hear from you.

Location and Time Commitment

We are fully remote - you can work wherever you’re most productive. This is a high-ownership, high-freedom role. This means that it’s not a 9-5 and you’ll often need to go above and beyond. It also means that while we generally work in US time zones, we don’t care when exactly you’re working and encourage you to structure your day to support your ideal life.

Compensation

Our compensation packages are designed to make this your dream job for both the short and long term. Compensation for this role includes base salary and stock options. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and unlimited PTO.
